I recently had the displeasure of re-installing my OS (10.6).
However I stumbled across a problem when using the latest universal drivers from MOTU……

Thanks for that link, i had exactly the same problem as you. 10.6.2 and the latest drivers kernel panic every time. Uninstalled, then installed the drivers you linked to, now all is fine.
